NCPA Outdoors' mission is to help hunters, sportsmen, fishermen, outdoorsmen (and women!) overcome the many challenges that go along with hunting, farming, fishing, gardening, backwoods, self-sustenance and outdoorsmanship skills. One of the ways we plan to do this is by thoroughly documenting our own success and failures along the way and then providing them as a resource to you, our fellow outdoorsmen.
As we share this information, we’ll look to those same individuals for not just their comments and questions, but also their suggestions, ideas and areas of concern that they have on various topics. Runnin' down a bear
We've had our share of differences with the bears destroying our crops, mast and more. We had another run-in with one of the locals who decided to check out one of the trees we'd climbed just a few hours earlier only this time, we were gonna have some words. Or were we?

Do yall take members at your deer camp?
actually, the horse is supposed to be in front of the cart
The easy way to do this is take the bellhousing off with the engine then put the bellhousing on the new engine and put it back on the unit.
Can we look forward to a What Happens at Deer Camp 2023 Edition?
I use denture tablets and boiling water in mine, no problems at all.
A deer can easily clear that 3’ fence with one leap .
Where is your hunting videos from 2024 your hunting videos did not see a hunting video this year from you
What the throttle hook up?
20 seconds in, and all I hear is absolutely pointless fluffmusic. 'bye
Switched my dead old engine out with a new one but when I started it the engine purred like a kitten but as I began to till with it the engine kept shutting down. It turns out that the new engine has a low oil shut off so when it tipped above it's set oil line it died. I talked to my small engine mechanic and he simply disconnected the wire and it runs fine. I unfortunately just got to Damn old to muscle that thing around anymore so I picked up a DR Power tow behind tiller and now I just pull it behind one of my small garden tractors.
i live on 10 acres in Southern Ohio, i've planted probably 10 apple tress in my life & every one of them died....various reasons....but i want to plant a few again.....never knew you should remove the blossoms the first 5 years but now i see why....i subscribed....thanks for the tips...
Do you guys hunt for turkey?
Absolutely!
You might want to get license plates on that old Ford.
Another wonderful video. Great to see everything coming together. Hopefully the feud with the bear ends in a productive way. They’re doing some real damage to the trees, as if the weather wasn’t doing enough. Take care Kris, good luck in trout season, as well as the soon approaching spring turkey season.
We're looking forward to spring gobbler for sure! Good luck to you as well if you're on the water or in the woods in the coming weeks!
Love it Kris! Can’t wait to see the ending with the bear! You have a healthy population of deer and other wildlife all around. While you may get frustrated with some of the plant losses, all your work is paying off. Please keep the videos coming and thanks for another great segment! Take care and stay safe!
Thanks, Steve, appreciate it! We try not to let the bear and bugs get to us.
Miss seeing you guys it’s been a while. Good to see a new video hope all is well. Can’t wait for more.
We're all doing pretty good, thanks! The wait will be short lived for the next video. Just wrapped another one up. Look for it this week.
Such a lovely sound. So beautiful.
Man do I ever love this channel and the content that you put out! I always look forward to watching what kind of project you guys get into. The bears/bugs devastation to the trees is ridiculous. Just can’t keep anything nice with them . I can’t believe you’re finding chestnut trees that cheap! Where are you finding them!? Anytime I look for those trees stores either don’t have them or the price is crazy high. Perhaps my timing is just off on finding them. Another thing, how do you get your fertilizer? You obviously can’t find that high of a rating in big box stores due to the regulation. I’m trying to find anywhere I can buy some higher test fertilizer so I’m not dumping 100s of pounds of triple 10. I look forward to the coming videos and hopefully the correspondence. It makes me anxious to watch the videos because it always gives me that jolt of motivation to go put in some work on plot preservation, unfortunately I have to wait till I have time to do so. I’d love to hear from you on UA-cam or otherwise through private means. None the less take care and best wishes to you and your family! Take care Kris!
Thanks Justin! The chestnut trees are always a markdown item at WalMart sometime in August if there's any left from the Memorial Day delivery. As for fertilizer, call or Google your local co-op / farm supply store. Best way to get it if you're doing food plots.
@@NCPAOutdoors that’s much appreciated. I’ll have to keep my eyes open. Thank you so much Kris.
It doesn't get any better than that. Congrats to the boys.
You got it! Thanks!
That's Awesome! He'll never forget that deer.
He has it on his desk in his room!
Im from Lancaster Co. PA. Now in Western NC, 3 acres. Planning & studying orchards/deer ! Leaning to permaculture, Stefon out of Quebec, CAN. Is the man, have fun guys. T Y for sharing.
I appreciate yalls contents.
Training vs pruning, is a thought.
Training vs massive pruning. Much less time spent pruning.
Just remember, there is more plates in a crooked row vs straight row. Lol
Hahahaha love it!!
Glad to see you guys back bud
For sure Doug, we're still at it. Thanks for keeping up with us!

Hey Kris, Thanks for the new segment! Love seeing the old tractor still getting it done. Hope all the new trees are still standing and doing well. Looking forward to seeing the segment(s) from hunting season. Take care and stay safe!
You bet Steve! The 'ol 620 is doing good though she's due for some clutch work and new gaskets. We've got the next video coming right around the corner.
Beverage in hand, good to see you guys back 👍
LOL... if you've got a beverage in hand YOU could use the tractor accessory too!

This was awesome, thanks so much, looking forward to being there again this year 🏹
Thank you! We had a blast and - like you - can't wait for this year! If you missed it, we have another video on the channel too from last year with you & your husband in it. "ETAR 2023 - G. Fred Asbell 21 Bow Salute"
👍⚾️
Its funny how any other time of the year, if you showed up and started slinging arrows around you'd get arrested. 😆😆 That event looks like so much fun!!!
It's a ton of fun! Can't wait to do it again this year!
Im excited to see the 2024 orchard update in an upcoming video…. Hint, hint!
Will there be a what happens at deer camp, stays at deer camp 2023 version?
For sure! We're working our way up to it.
Im about to put a gx 240 on my old horse. Gonna be doing some fabrication.
Incredible video, I love to watch and see the progress. It inspires me in the cold winter months to prepare myself for the growing season ahead. Your channel inspires me and fills me with hope and information to use in my plots. I wish that exclusion fencing wasn’t so costly. However, I’m sure it’s worth it in the long haul. Thank you for all that you guys do! Best wishes, until next time.
Thanks for kind words Justin. Yes the exclusion fence will cost you at the start, but it's worth it when you account for at least 10+ years of use. The ability to limit accesss until the plot is ready pays dividends on your initial time, seed and fertilizer investment. It truly is a labor of love and wouldn't be possible without the whole group focused on the goal. The hard work provides months of relaxing time outdoors watching the wildlife enjoy all the food.
Hats off to y’all for all the work on the food plots. Looking forward to seeing how y’all did during deer season! Take care & stay safe!
Thanks Steve! Trying to roll these last few videos out before we do the Buck Season video!
thistle ...fun stuff indeed... for some reason we also had an awful outbreak of mustard weed this year....but I cant get over how long your clover plot has lasted..... tried no till on a part of our plot this year for comparison sake ...I was shocked on how effective the no till was in relation to the till for both corn and soybeans... but with the dry early mid summer, the no till actually had more protective cover from the drought...Love this stuff....keep them coming ...
Sorry to hear about the mustard mess! And you're right on the no till protection during dry times. As long as you can drill beans and corn into a standing cover crop, those dry days aren't as much of a concern. Crazy how quickly summer and fall came and went... soon it'll be time to plant again. Happy 2024 to you & the fam!
Nice work. 😊
Thank you

I have to say watching your videos really gets to me. Memories at deer camp are always the best.
Thanks for watching, we appreciate it!
I must say your videos are great, love seeing you all so patient with the youngster. Reminds me of our family camp we had back in the day.

@@NCPAOutdoors I hope your family traditions last for for a lifetime. I cannot stop watching your videos.
Oh to have a tractor and the people motivated enough to use it and plant some seed. Looking forward to your Deer Camp video.
hahaha! Motivation is 9/10's the battle. Our deer camp video is a work in progress... have a few to finish up ahead of it. Hoping tonight to be able to sit down with the boys and watch yours! I believe Joel said he enjoyed it the other night.

It's doing well... we've had our setbacks with it but she's still movin' along. There's a bit of an update in a video we did 3 weeks ago (ua-cam.com/video/7y6RVM86_NE/v-deo.html) and we'll touch on some more of it in the next one we're working on now.
